Inclement Weather Policy

Franklin Athletic Club has developed the following inclement weather / emergency outdoor pool closing polices out of concern for the safety of our members, program participants, guests, and staff. Please check our Facebook page @FranklinClubSouthfield or call (248)352-8000 in advance to confirm status of classes and the pool on days that the area is experiencing inclement weather. Franklin Athletic Club reserves the right to cancel classes and close the pool facilities at any time for safety reasons.

In the event of inclement weather, decisions regarding the opening of the pool will be made throughout the day. Please see below for more details.

  • If weather is an issue early in the morning the status of the outdoor pool and its programs will be posted by 6:00 am.
  • If the pool is closed prior to opening at 7:00 a.m. it will remain closed until at least 9:30 a.m.
  • Franklin Athletic club will re-evaluate the weather conditions every 2-3 hours and post any updates of openings and closings.

Indoor Pool

The Masters swim program is for adults, age 18+, looking to improve their skills and endurance in the water. Coach-led workouts include a warm-up set, skill and technique work, followed by a main set. All levels of swimming experience are welcome! Masters swim practices are sixty minutes, and we recommend bringing basic equipment, including fins, paddles, a kickboard, and a pull buoy. We don’t take attendance, but our coaches love to see a consistent and steady turn out.
